I honestly think the prettiest borders have reasonable border gore(stuff like Prussia being an exclave of Brandenburg with a polish peninsula running through it, or three random German cities belonging to Brandenburg entirely disconnected from each other and Brandenburg, or even something on the order of burgundy)
